You’re invited to come and make special memories and create new traditions that could last generations. Pumpkins are available in late September through October. Stop by the farm for pretty homegrown display pumpkins or to find pie pumpkins for sale for your fall sweet treats. Whether you’re looking for the perfect pumpkin for carving, baking, eating, or displaying, Eckert's brings the pumpkin-picking potential for any autumnal activity.
Picking and storing pumpkins.
Cut pumpkins from with good clippers or a sharp knife while leaving about 4 inches of stem. This will protect your pumpkin from insects or rot. You’ll also want to clean your pumpkin with water and soap and then dry with an old towel. To cure your pumpkin, store it in a warm place for a week to ten days. This will harden the skin and help it keep for around three months.
Sustainable Growing Methods
Sustainability in agriculture means meeting the food needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to do the same.
