Ingredients
Crescent Rolls – depending on the size of the cornucopia cups you make, you can typically get 1.5 cornucopias out of one can of crescent rolls you can also substitute crescent rolls with puff pastry
Egg Wash – this gives your dough a gorgeous golden-brown finish
Meats – Prosciutto, salami, and pepperoni
Cheeses – Brie, cheddar, mozzarella and gouda
Fruits – Grapes, figs, tomatoes and apple slices
Nuts – Almonds and walnuts
Breads – Crackers and breadsticks
Herbs – sprigs of Rosemary, basil
Supplies
Cooking Spray – this will help prevent the dough from sticking to the foil molds while baking, allowing it to be easily removed
Tin Foil – This will be used to create the cornucopia shape that the crescent dough will be wrapped around
Parchment Paper
Festive hors d’oeuvre toothpicks (optional)
Step-by-Step Assembly
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Step 2: Begin by shaping the tin foil into a cone shape. This will be how your cornucopia keeps its shape during the baking process. Once they are fully baked and cooled, aluminum foil will be removed to reveal a cup to place the charcuterie into. Spray the foil with cooking spray.
Step 3: Roll out the crescent roll dough and slice into long 1 inch strips. Gently wrap the crescent roll dough around the cone shaped aluminum foil.
Step 4: Gently brush the tops of your dough with egg wash.
Step 5: Bake at 375 for about 15 minutes or until golden brown. When done, carefully remove the inner pieces of the foil from the cones.
Step 6: Use the festive toothpicks to skewer your meats and cheeses. Place those into the cones and add your fruits and nuts of choice. Decorate with fresh basil or a sprig of rosemary. Serve and enjoy!
